Users can gain access to items not included in the Library collection of A.T.E.I. of Thessaloniki but found in other libraries.

Any patron who has the right to borrow and owns a Library card may apply for an Inter-Library Loan. In case the Inter-Library Loan Service cannot satisfy a claim, its staff will make sure to inform the patron on how to acquire the desired material in the most convenient way possible (eg. where he/she may locate the material, how much the service is charged, how much the mailing will cost etc.)

The kind and the format of material available depend on the policy of the library where the desired material has been located.

Users will be notified in advance about the cost of this service, a cast, which will vary according to the case.

The time required for the delivery of the desired material depends on the lending library as well as on the way the material is being shipped.

Users should first make sure that the item(s) they need is(are) not included in the A.T.E.I. of Thessaloniki Library Collection by thoroughly searching through its OPAC, online databases and e-journals.

As soon as users make sure that the Library Collection does not include the desired items, they should contact the Reference Department either in person or electronically. Then they will have to fill in an Inter-Library Loan application form either for books or for articles. These application forms are available either at the Reference Department Office or in electronic format via the Library portal.

The Library, they are borrowing from, should keep patrons informed on the Interlibrary Loan duration determined.

In case they delay to return an Interlibrary Loan item, users may have to pay a fine. Again, they need to be informed about such a case in advance.

Users may receive as well as return the desired material at the office of Inter-Library Loan Service.
